This is Carmel, a male Standard Poodle.
But, I don’t think Carmel looks much like a boy. I think he looks like a supermodel, thin, all legs, a picky eater—he even walks like a supermodel.
I call him Carmel Macchiato because Carmel Macchiato is a supermodel’s name.
I took Carmel Macchiato, the supermodel, for a run at the neighbor dog park. Away from the paparazzi, he could be just another normal dog. He had a blast romping with the pack—but when he came back to me something was odd.
He still looked like a supermodel.
He still walked like a supermodel.
But he didn’t smell like a supermodel.
Hmmmm. It seems rough play with one of the “country” dogs landed Carmel Macchiato in some bushes. My theory is that a skunk had sprayed the bushes not too long before Carmel doddered through them, leaving Carmel—how shall I say this—rather ripe.
But as I’ve said before, dogs love things that stink.
It didn’t bother Carmel that he smelled. I’m sure he loved it. I’m sure the only thing he would have liked more is if the skunk had first sprayed the bushes and them died in them.
I took Carmel home and I bathed him in my ball-and-claw bathtub in warm sudsy water. Supermodels love spa treatments. Then I toweled him off, combed him out and fed him. Of course, Carmel won’t eat the food his owner left for him. So I gave him Moondoggie’s food
He didn’t like standing alone in a room eating his food so I sat on the floor next to him while he ate.
Models are so high maintenance.
I felt that I was really bonding with Carmel Macchiato. I was there with everything he needed—right at the moment he needed it. I thought that perhaps when Carmel left Doggie Heaven Hotel that he would hire me as his assistant. Take me away from the country. Introduce me to the Big City.
So I was rather disappointed when he got into his people’s car with out so much as a backward glance and drove out of my gate.
Good Bye Carmel Macchiato. Don’t let fame and fortune go to your head.
Remember all the little people.

Cute photos of the leggy blonde. :)

Adorable pictures of my favorite poodle. He told me he thoroughly enjoyed his stay at doggie heaven hotel. He really enjoyed the feeding method and wanted me to continue. He misses Moondoggie and Gus and has requested that their people talk to his people to arrange a play date. Oh, and he told me today that he was disappointed that he went for only one walk instead of 4. You have spoiled him. But thanks again for taking such good care of him. Love, caramel's mom
